Kinetic Green Launches E-Luna Prime, Targeting India's Commuter Segment

Kinetic Green Energy and Power Solutions has introduced the E-Luna Prime, an electric two-wheeler designed for India's commuter motorcycle market. The new model builds on the success of the E-Luna, which has sold over 25,000 units since its launch.
The E-Luna Prime, the company shared, is engineered to meet the needs of millions of commuters, offering an affordable and practical solution for both urban and rural environments. It features rugged 16-inch alloy wheels, a digital cluster and a spacious front-loading area. The electric two-wheeler is available in two variants with ranges of 110 km and 140 km, prices starting at INR 82,490 (ex-showroom).
According to Kinetic Green, the E-Luna Prime offers significant savings compared to conventional petrol-based motorcycles. The total cost of ownership is estimated at just INR 2,500 per month, which includes the EMI and running expenses. This is a fraction of the estimated INR 7,500 monthly cost for a traditional ICE two-wheeler, potentially saving consumers up to INR 60,000 annually.

The E-Luna Prime is available in six colours and will be sold through Kinetic Green's network of over 300 dealerships across the country.
Simple Energy Raises $10 Million In Bridge Round, Targets 150 Stores By December

Bengaluru-based electric vehicle maker Simple Energy has raised USD 10 million in an all-equity funding round led by existing investor Dr. Arokiaswamy Velumani, Founder of Thyrocare’s Family Office with participation from existing investors - Balamurugan Arumugam and the Haran family office. The funds will be deployed to expand its network, marketing initiatives and R&D.
At present, the company has setup a manufacturing facility in Hosur, Tamil Nadu with a capacity to produce 150,000 units per annum.

Nearly 80 percent of the capital will be directed towards expanding our retail presence and building a robust dealer and service network. The rest of the funds will be employed towards R&D. Till date, Simple Energy has raised a total of USD 51 million from marquee investors and is targeting USD 350 million by going public by FY2027.
At present, the company’s product portfolio includes the Simple One and Simple OneS, which provide a claimed IDC range of 248km and 181km respectively. It has established 54 outlets across cities including Bengaluru, Goa, Vijayawada, Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam and Kochi, amongst others. The company plans to open 150 new stores and 200 service centres this year.
Ultraviolette X-47 Gets Over 3,000 Bookings, Introductory Price Extended To 5,000 Bookings

Bengaluru-based electric vehicle maker Ultraviolette Automotive has announced its recently introduced ‘X-47 Crossover’ electric motorcycle has garnered over 3,000 bookings within the first 24 hours of its launch. In response to the demand, Ultraviolette has extended its introductory offer to the first 5,000 customers.
The X-47 launched at an introductory price starting at INR 243,000, applicable to the first 1,000 customers, is built upon Ultraviolette’s proprietary electric powertrain architecture. It is powered by a 10.3 kWh battery pack, producing peak output of 40.2 horsepower and 100 Nm of torque. This performance enables acceleration from zero to 60 kilometres per hour in 2.7 seconds, with a top speed of 145 kmph. The motorcycle offers an IDC range of up to 323 kilometres.
A key innovation on the X-47 is its UV Radar Intelligence system, which utilises a 77 GHz rear radar capable of monitoring objects up to 200 metres away. This system is engineered to function even when the motorcycle is leaning at angles up to 20 degrees. It forms the basis of an Advanced Rider Assistance System, providing functions such as blind-spot monitoring, lane change assist, overtake alerts and rear collision warnings.
In response to the demand, Ultraviolette has extended its introductory offer to the first 5,000 customers.

Olectra Greentech Onboards Former Switch Mobility CEO Mahesh Babu As New MD

Olectra Greentech, one of the leading electric commercial vehicle manufacturers in the country, has appointed Mahesh Babu as its new Managing Director, effective 27th September.
With about four decades of experience, Babu, the former CEO of Ashok Leyland’s electric vehicle business Switch Mobility, is expected to support Olectra Greentech’s expansion in the EV segment.
During his tenure at Switch Mobility, Babu had been instrumental at launching the 1.25 tonner IeV3 and 1.75 tonner IeV4 in the electric LCV segment and 12m buses in standard and low floor segments.
He has been actively involved in the EV industry having being part of several committees of the Indian government, the Confederation of India Industry (CII) and the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI).
Olectra Greentech had sold 679 units in 2024 and 341 units in 2023. In the first 9 months of 2025, the company has already sold 672 units and counting.

Ola Electric Marks Record Start For Festive Sale

Ola Electric, one of India’s leading EV companies, has announced a record-breaking start to its Ola Muhurat Mahotsav festive sale, with all available units of its S1 scooters and Roadster X motorcycles selling out in just five minutes on the first day.
The high-speed sales, it said, were fuelled by the company’s recently launched ‘Ola Celebrates India’ campaign, which offered special prices starting at INR 49,999. The sale's immediate sell-out indicates strong consumer demand, as many customers logged in simultaneously to secure a vehicle during the limited-time window.
A company spokesperson commented, “To be sold out in 5 minutes on Day 1 shows the strength of our mission, which is to make EVs accessible to every Indian household. This is just the beginning, and we are excited to see even more Indians join the EV revolution.”
The Ola Muhurat Mahotsav is set to run until 1 October, with new batches of limited units available at special times each day. The company offers a wide range of electric two-wheelers, including the premium S1 Pro+ and S1 Pro, as well as the mass-market S1 X+ and S1 X scooters. Additionally, its Roadster X+ and Roadster X motorcycles are also part of the festive lineup.
