Blue Energy Motors LNG Trucks Saves 10,000 Tonnes Of CO2 Emissions

        Blue Energy Motors

Blue Energy Motors, a leading alternative energy commercial vehicles manufacturer, has attained the milestone of saving 10,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions through the deployment of its Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG)-powered trucks. This the company said is equivalent to the annual carbon absorption of over 4,00,000 trees.

The data from Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (MoRTH) points out that commercial vehicles account for just 4 percent of the vehicle parc in the country, but contributes nearly 40 percent of CO2 emissions. Thus the transition of alternative energy solutions for the CV sector would play a crucial role in cutting down on carbon emissions.

Anirudh Bhuwalka, CEO, Blue Energy Motors, said, “Achieving the milestone of saving 10,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions is a testament to our unwavering commitment to driving sustainable change in the trucking industry. At Blue Energy Motors, we are not just transforming logistics with our alternate fuel trucks; we are setting a benchmark for green innovation and demonstrating the potential of clean energy solutions in decarbonizing logistic operations. Alongside our LNG advancements, we are actively working on other alternate fuel commercial trucks to offer comprehensive sustainable solutions for the future of mobility. This achievement reinforces our vision of a cleaner, greener future, and we remain dedicated to leading the way in sustainable mobility for India and beyond.”

Blue Energy Motors claims LNG trucks have 30 percent less CO2 emissions compared to its diesel counterpart. Furthermore, it is also in advanced stage to introduce electric vehicle offerings.

Deogam’s Innovative Electric Recycle System For EVs Promises Upto 10% Extended Range

          Deogam

South Korea-based energy start-up Deogam is set to showcase its ‘electric recycle’ system for electric vehicles at CES 2025, Las Vegas.

The company states its solution reclaims energy lost to harmonics generated in EV power system and recycle it for vehicle power usage.

EVs use secondary batteries to power their motors. An inverter converts the energy stored in these batteries from DC (direct current) to AC, which generates heat and harmonics. These harmonics lead to energy loss, which increases with higher power input and vehicle performance.

Deogam’s ‘electric recycle’ system uses a toroid-shaped energy core to capture harmonics and convert them into usable electrical energy. The recycling system generates high electromotive force, which allows stable energy conversion even with significant input voltage fluctuations within a ‘buck and boost’ converter. The company claims its internal tests show it can reclaim 18 percent of energy lost to harmonics, increasing EV driving range by up to 10 percent.

The start-up has inked an MoU with Kakao Mobility to target South Korean electric taxi market in 2025. Following up to successful use cases in South Korea, it aims to introduce its solutions in Germany, Norway, and key U.S. cities.

Kim Jinouk, CEO, Deogam, said, "If our electric recycling system were applied to 14 million EVs worldwide, each driving 30 kilometres, the reclaimed energy would total approximately 3 million megawatts (MW). This efficiency underscores the system's growing importance in achieving global carbon neutrality."

“With this technology, Deogam aims to make the electric recycle system an essential component for every EV worldwide. Since the system's carbon emissions during energy production are nearly zero, we plan to focus on markets in Western Europe, which are leading the charge in carbon neutrality," concluded Jinouk.
