Audi Launches Q9 SUV As New Flagship At EUR 108,400

German luxury carmaker Audi has introduced the Q9, a full-size SUV that serves as the top-tier model in its lineup. Measuring 5.31 metres long, 2.21 metres wide and 1.81 metres tall with a 3.14-metre wheelbase, the vehicle is the largest SUV produced by the brand to date.

Order books open in Germany at the end of July 2026, with European deliveries scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter. Prices start at EUR 108,400 for the 220 kW TDI model.

The Q9 expands the upper end of Audi's product line, incorporating curved digital OLED rear light panels, power-adjustable second-row seats, automatic doors and a panoramic sunroof measuring over 1.5 square metres.

The Q9 is offered in 6-seat and 7-seat configurations. The seven-seat layout features a 35/30/35 split second row with Isofix mounting points across all three seats, alongside a power-folding third row. The six-seat option replaces the middle row with individual power-adjustable seats.

It includes automatic doors with obstacle detection sensors and soft-close mechanisms. Front sports seats feature power adjustments, with heating, ventilation and massage functions available on upgraded trims.

Cabin electronics centre on the curved MMI panoramic display, combining a 12.3-inch instrument cluster and a 14.5-inch central touch display. A 12.3-inch front passenger display with a display privacy filter is fitted as standard. The system operates on Android Automotive OS with integrated third-party applications, the Audi voice assistant and ChatGPT integration. The SUV come with a 22-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system delivering 1,360 watts, incorporating headrest speakers and seat-mounted tactile actuators.

The exterior features an upright Singleframe grille, offered in an advanced line trim with vertical slats or an S line trim with an open grille design and updated bumpers. Wheel options range from 20 to 23 inches.

The rear illumination uses curved digital OLED panels constructed with 0.1-millimetre glass substrates across six individual panels. The system integrates communication lighting that projects hazard symbols to surrounding traffic and projects turn signal indicators directly onto the road surface at night.

At launch, the Q9 will be available with a 220 kW V6 diesel engine in Germany, while a 180 kW version will also be offered in selected European markets. The 220 kW version delivers 630 Nm of torque, while the 180 kW diesel engine delivers 500 Nm.

Both the engines use an MHEV plus system, comprising a powertrain generator refined for the Q9, a belt alternator starter and a lithium iron phosphate battery.

An adaptive air suspension system comes standard, offering up to 90 millimetres of height adjustment. Driving assistance features include hands-free partial automated driving under the Adaptive Driving Assistant Plus framework at speeds up to 130 kmph on approved highways, supported by an eye-tracking camera on the steering column. Emergency Assist capabilities include automated lane-changing to the road shoulder if driver inactivity is detected.

Maruti Suzuki Fronx Exports Cross 200,000 Units

Maruti Suzuki India has announced that cumulative exports of its Fronx model have passed 200,000 units in under 38 months following the commencement of overseas shipments in June 2023.

Manufactured at the company's Hansalpur plant in Gujarat, the SUV is exported to nearly 90 markets, including Japan. The Fronx reached its initial 100,000 export milestone within 25 months, with the subsequent 100,000 units shipped over the following 13 months.

After crossing the milestone of 100,000 exports in record time, Fronx reached its second lakh significantly faster, underlining its growing demand in the international markets.”

Jeep Launches Compass 85th Anniversary Edition In India At INR 2.67 Million

Stellantis-owned Jeep India has launched the Jeep Compass 85th Anniversary Edition, limited to 85 units at prices starting at INR 2.67 million (ex-showroom).

The anniversary edition incorporates visual updates to the exterior and interior of the vehicle platform. External changes include 18-inch alloy wheels finished in gloss black alongside anniversary badging. The interior cabin features a black colour scheme paired with gold accents and contrast trim detailing.

The vehicle is offered with optional accessory packages under the brand's personalisation options. Bookings for the limited-run vehicle have opened across the company's dealership network and online sales platform.

Mercedes-Benz Opens New Dealership In Lucknow With T&T Motors

German luxury car brand Mercedes-Benz India has opened its new sales facility in Lucknow in partnership with dealership operator T&T Motors. The outlet expands the company's network in Uttar Pradesh to 10 touchpoints across cities including Lucknow, Noida, Ghaziabad, Agra, Kanpur and Varanasi, contributing to a national presence of over 150 locations across more than 60 cities.

The new facility occupies 9,000 square feet, including over 5,000 square feet of carpet area and was completed in five months. The showroom accommodates four vehicle display bays, private and semi-private consultation zones, a lounge section for vehicle lines and a dedicated delivery bay. To support battery electric vehicles, the location incorporates a 180 kW DC fast charger with two charging bays, backed by a staff of 88 employees.

Mahindra Lifestyler

Mumbai-headquartered automotive major Mahindra & Mahindra has unveiled its first global pick up christened Lifestyler, which will be launched in India as the Mahindra Scorpio Lifestyler. The vehicle will go on sale by April 2027 with prices starting below INR 1.97 million ex-showroom. 

First shown as a concept in Cape Town, South Africa, in August 2023, the pickup was designed at the Mahindra India Design Studio in Mumbai and developed at Mahindra Research Valley in Chennai. It is built on Mahindra’s next-generation body-on-frame architecture and is intended for both payload and lifestyle use. The company claims to have around 267 patents in terms of innovation for the Lifestyler.

While the technical details are still under the wraps, the company showcased three editions - the Valley Edition finished in Artemis Grey, the Reef Edition uses an Aquareef finish and the Trail Edition finished in Sahara Beige.

The Mahindra Lifestyler is aimed at the midsize lifestyle pickup segment in Australia and New Zealand, South Africa, Africa, the Middle East and Latin America. It has been developed to meet requirements for capability, durability, safety, technology and everyday use across those markets.
