Hyundai Motor Group delivered its opening speech for 2024 at the Kia AutoLand Gwangmyeong, the first facility dedicated to electric vehicles (EVs) in Korea, looking ahead to the coming year and outlining the Group's key areas of focus.

Under the theme 'Together, a valuable start,' Euisun Chung, Executive Chair, Hyundai Motor Group and the Group's executives shared messages for the new year and the Group's future vision. "Our mission this year will be 'Consistency and Sustainability,' through the constant strengthening of our capabilities, enabling us to overcome any challenges and achieve sustainable progress," said Euisun Chung. "I am excited about the series of innovations in electrification that will begin right here at AutoLand Gwangmyeong, the Group's first facility dedicated to electric vehicles and will expand to Ulsan, the United States and beyond," he added.

In Q2 of 2024, the Group will complete the requalification of the Kia AutoLand Gwangmyeong EV Plant, which will produce the EV3, a compact 100 percent electric vehicle for the brand. Subsequently, Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America (HMGMA), the EV facility of Kia AutoLand Hwaseong and the EV facility of Hyundai Motor Ulsan will be sequentially operationalized to introduce innovative electric vehicles to the global market, aligning with the strategy to become one of the top three global electric vehicle manufacturers by 2030.
