Amber Connect To Display AI-Driven Technologies At Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025

Amber Connect, a global vehicle tracking and telematics solutions company headquartered in Jamaica, is all set to showcase its transformative AI-driven technologies at the upcoming Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, which is set to be held from 17 to 22 January 2025 at three venues in and around Delhi.
With its participation in in the event, Amber Connect plans to tap into the growing Indian passenger and commercial vehicle market. Amber Connect will showcase its range of transformative AI-driven technologies, including fleet management, advanced vehicle security, theft detection and AI dashcams, at the Bharat Mandapam venue.

The journey of the organisation started when Savadia, who was born in Bhubaneshwar, Odisha, travelled to Jamaica as a humanitarian representative for the Art of Living Foundation. Over the course of three years, Savadia conducted stress management courses for a wide range of audiences, including business teams, farmers and jail prisoners. Amber Group was established in 2015 to support his charity endeavours when the financing for his nonprofit efforts dried up. The company's original product, Amber Connect, found a significant gap in vehicle security and created the most potent AI-powered fleet management and consumer car monitoring solutions available. Amber Connect has grown to operate in 100 countries since its founding, and it now intends to enhance the Indian market.

IIT Bombay Launches E-Postgraduate Diploma In E-Mobility

IIT Bombay, one of the country’s premiere educational institutes, has launched an e-Postgraduate Diploma in E-mobility.
Conceptualised and delivered by IIT Bombay faculty with Great Learning as its EdTech partner, the 18-month, industry-focused curriculum will begin in March 2025.
Prof. Shireesh Kedare, Director, IIT Bombay, said, "The e-Postgraduate Diploma in E-mobility by the C1973 EV Power Train Lab marks a key milestone in IIT Bombay's commitment to advanced education. Our industry collaborations help bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world application, accelerating our mission to advance experiential learning in innovation-driven fields."
The course is targeted for early & mid-career professionals, scientists & R&D professionals, entrepreneurs, academicians and recent graduates. It will feature a host of key learning topics such as electric vehicle design, battery technology, electrical drives, power electronics and more. The focus will be on both conceptual and practical learning through live and interactive sessions.

Students will work on projects such as vehicle sub-system modelling, embedded controller for electric motors, simulation of power electronic systems, battery modelling techniques & degradation phenomenon, modelling & control of EV chargers, impact assessment of EVs on grid infrastructure supported. All these will be supported by IIT Bombay's academic resources.
IIT Bombay has shared that eligible candidates must have a B.E. / B.Tech degree or a 4-year B.Sc / BS degree in a relevant domain of engineering or technology. Candidates with postgraduate (M.Tech / M.Sc / MS) or doctorate degrees in a relevant domain of engineering and technology can also apply.

Hyundai Motor Group Partners Nvidia To Advance AI Tech In Mobility, Factories

South Korean auto major Hyundai Motor Group has inked a strategic partnership with American tech major Nvidia to accelerate the development of advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies to drive the future of mobility.
As per the understanding, Hyundai which is already integrating AI for innovations will leverage the partnership with Nvidia to further enhance application and deployment of advanced intelligence for not only mobility, but also robotics and business operations.
Heung-Soo Kim, Executive Vice-President & Head of Global Strategy Office at Hyundai Motor Group, said, “Hyundai Motor Group is exploring innovative approaches with AI technologies in various fields such as robotics, autonomous driving, and smart factory. This partnership is set to accelerate our progress, positioning the Group as a frontrunner in driving AI-empowered mobility innovation.”
The partnership will see Hyundai use Nvidia’s accelerated computing and AI Enterprise software to ‘safely develop and train its AI models for various applications’ using its massive data.
Nvidia’s Omniverse platform will develop physical AI and digital twin applications for simulating factories, enhance manufacturing efficiency & quality and optimise costs. Hyundai will also use Nvidia Isaac robot development platform for developing and deploying AI robots.

Valeo, Amazon Web Services To Accelerate SDV Deployment

Tier 1 supplier Valeo has announced a new collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to accelerate introduction of software defined vehicles (SDV) for the automotive industry.
The collaboration will focus on accelerating efficient development, testing and validation of distributed vehicle software stacks across vehicle domains like Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), infotainment systems and autonomous mobility (AM). They will also look to bring new end-user functionalities to further improve the driving experience.
As per the understanding, the collaboration will see Valeo will initially introduce - Valeo Virtualised Hardware Lab, Valeo Cloud Hardware Lab and the assistance system Assist XR - on the AWS platform.
The Valeo Virtualised Hardware Lab will allow car manufacturers to test software on virtualised Electronic Control Units (vECU) and Sensor Models (VESM), which will further accelerate development cycle of ECU software by up to 40 percent. This will not only enable faster development time, but also reduce development costs. The Valeo Virtualised Hardware Lab is expected to be be available on AWS Marketplace in Q1 CY2025.
The Valeo Cloud Hardware Lab, touted as the first Hardware-in-the-loop as-a-Service (HILaaS) solution allows automotive customers to access Valeo’s managed large-scale HIL test systems from an AWS-hosted workplace. It will enable cross collaboration between development teams across the globe.
Assist XR, a remote services solution designed to improve driving experience uses data and AI services provided by AWS. This allows to extend functionalities through remote assistance by collecting and analysing real-time vehicle and environmental information.
