The conflict in West Asia is threatening to disrupt the crude oil and gas supply chain of India and other countries of the world. It stems from the fact that the dependence on crude oil and gas imports is high. The shortage of gas in particular is already evident as many hotels, restaurants and even Industries cut down their output or down their shutters. The geopolitical situation does not seem to fade or normalise and instead puts a greater emphasis on frugality, sustainability and circularity. None of these terms are new to the auto industry that has been busy for much of the period after GST reduction to cater to the increased market demand.  In this issue of Motoring Trends, the focus is on how the industry is promoting frugality, sustainability and circularity with new launches that are increasingly tech heavy. Supporting such endeavours of the OEMs is an ecosystem that is as good and capable of supporting efforts to reduce the carbon footprint and go net zero. At the core of the ecosystem are machine and automated processes that increasingly call for less human intervention.
