- January 12, 2025

DC2 Design, formerly known as DC Design, which is the brainchild of Indian car designer Dilip Chhabria, recently released a teaser of an electric car set to be unveiled at the upcoming Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025.
The Indian designer is expected to unveil a modified Humvee in an electric avatar. While the exact specifications are not known, it is expected that just like his earlier works, the upcoming e-Humvee would have a flashy design.
For the unversed, Dilip Chhabria has been a prominent name in the Indian automotive design industry. His notable achievements include developing a prototype for the Vantage V8 for Aston Martin in the 2003 Detroit Motor Show. Chhabria had also designed especially for an Indian movie, Taarzan: The Wonder Car and his DC Avanti sports car was also embroiled in controversy.
Going forward, it would be interesting to see with DC2 Design if Chhabria marks a comeback in the Indian automotive scene.

- by MT Bureau
- March 21, 2025

Nissan GB has appointed Ed Jones as its new Sales Director with effect from 16 June 2025. Jones replaces Michael Auliar, who is scheduled to depart the company at the end of March to pursue another opportunity.
Jones is rejoining Nissan following seven years at Audi UK, where he oversaw UK Sales Operations and served as National Contract Hire and Leasing Manager. He brings to his new position a wealth of sales, dealer operations, fleet and electric vehicle product knowledge. Jones rose swiftly through the ranks of Nissan GB, achieving remarkable success in a variety of sales and marketing-related areas. His arrival coincides with the upcoming launch of the new British-built LEAF, which will join Qashqai and Juke at the heart of Nissan’s UK operations.
Jones said, “I’m delighted to be returning at such an exciting time. Nissan was the only brand with two models in the top five best-sellers in 2024 and, with increased market share and double-digit sales growth, it’s a brand with real momentum in 2025. With Nissan’s rich heritage in innovation, I am delighted to be joining the brand as it looks ahead to some exciting new technologies and a great choice of electric and electrified vehicles. I look forward to working with colleagues within the brand and across the retailer network.”
Mayra González, Divisional Vice President – Marketing and Sales, Europe, said, “I’m delighted to welcome Ed to our team – his experience and expertise in all areas of UK sales will be invaluable as we look to capitalise on some exciting new product launches. Renault India Announces Price Hike From April 2025
- by MT Bureau
- March 20, 2025

Renault India has announced up to two percent price hike across its vehicle lineup with effect from April 2025.
Depending on the model and version, the price hike's magnitude will change. The corporation has been absorbing steadily rising input expenses for a considerable amount of time, which has led to this conclusion. Since February 2023, this is the first price increase that Renault India has announced. The business is still dedicated to providing its clients with an attractive value proposition and will keep concentrating on providing top-notch goods and services, said the company.
Venkatram Mamillapalle, Country CEO & Managing Director, Renault India, said, "Despite our best efforts to maintain prices for a long time, the sustained increase in input costs has necessitated this price adjustment. We have been absorbing these costs for a long time to support our customers, but to continue providing the best quality and innovative products, a price revision has become inevitable."

Kia India Announces Up To 3% Price Hike Across Entire Lineup
- by MT Bureau
- March 19, 2025

Leading premium carmaker Kia India has announced up to three percent price hike across its entire lineup with effect from 1 April 2025. The primary reason for the price hike, according to the company, is rising commodity prices and escalating supply chain-related costs.
Hardeep Singh Brar, Senior Vice President – Sales and Marketing, Kia India, said, “As a brand committed to providing exceptional value and quality to our customers, we have always strived to offer the best vehicles at competitive prices. However, due to the rising costs of commodities and input materials, we will be increasing up to three percent price hike across all Kia models, effective from 1st April 2025. While we understand that price adjustments can be challenging, this decision has been made to ensure we can continue delivering the high-quality, technologically advanced vehicles that our customers expect from Kia. To minimise the impact on our customers, Kia is absorbing a significant portion of the increased costs, ensuring that the price adjustment remains as manageable as possible for our valued customers.”
